Keep clear copies ready before starting. You need documents that match the details entered in your PAN application.
INDIVIDUALS & HUFs
Proof of Identity
Use any one valid document from the following list for your PAN application.
- Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI
- Arms licence
- Original bank certificate with your photograph and account details
- Central Government or ex-servicemen health scheme card with photograph
- Identity certificate issued by an MP, MLA or municipal councillor
- Identity certificate signed by a gazetted officer
- Driving licence
- Passport
- Pensioner card with photograph
- Photo identity card issued by a Central or State Government department or public-sector body
- Ration card with photograph
- Voter ID card
Note
- Your document should show your complete name. Initials alone are usually not accepted, except on a voter ID. A driving licence is accepted with an abbreviated middle name only when it appears in the document.
- For a minor, the representative assessee must be the father or mother and must sign wherever required.
